A hearing was held on October 28, 2015 regarding the LGBTQ Cultural Competency Continuing Education Amendment Act of 2015. Dr. Nesbitt testified on behalf of DOH. It was clear that DOH’s position is that requiring 2 credits of LGBTQ training is too narrow and that their position is to broaden the cultural competency training beyond LGBTQ training. In addition, there was discussion regarding this being the responsibility of the health profession licensing boards.
