The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued Survey and Certification Letter: 17-27-NH, which provides guidance about the requirement to provide notices of transfer or discharge to residents with copies to the Ombudsman for Long-Term Care. This guidance to surveyors is effective May 12.
