Power Strip Usage Update

LeadingAge has distributed a life safety code update on the new waivers for power strip usage. The update was prepared by LeadingAge’s Life Safety Consultant, Eric Rosenbaum, P.E., with Hughes Associates, Inc., and reviewed by CMS. Read More

CMS Announces New MDS Focus Surveys

Earlier this year CMS completed a pilot in 5 states featuring a focused survey to assess MDS 3.0 coding practices, and its relationship to resident care in nursing homes. The pilot was completed in August, and CMS will now expand these surveys nationwide in 2015.
