New Training Series for Nursing Homes on Person-Centered Dementia Care

Hand in Hand: A Training Series for Nursing Homes, a training series for nursing home staff on person-centered care of persons with dementia and prevention of abuse, will be sent to all nursing homes, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The training materials consist of an orientation guide and 6 hour-long video-based modules. Nursing homes may use Hand in Hand as their training tool to meet requirements for annual nurse aide training on dementia care and abuse prevention, but are also free to use other resources.
