DC Family Member Speaks at Hill Briefing on Long-Term Care

Mr. Henry Purchase, the head of the Family Council at Stoddard Baptist in Washington, DC joined a panel at LeadingAge’s Hill briefing on February 22, 2013 to educate staff and members about the impact of funding cuts on long-term care providers and residents. Mr. Purchase talked about the challenges of family caregiving and his family’s need to eventually move her to a nursing home after her needs exceeded their ability. Mr. Purchase’s wife serves on Stoddard’s board of directors, and he discussed how important it is for donors to be able to get tax deductions for supporting Stoddard’s cause.
