LeadingAge DC is a member of the Senior Advisory Coalition. We were thrilled that our members joined others to participate in a two-day call-in effort on March 4th and 5th to encourage Mayor Gray to support a $5.7 million increase in 2014 funding for the D.C. Office on Aging community program, include housing for seniors in the DC $100 million affordable housing initiative, and improve transportation for seniors through funding for capital improvements, (e.g. new buses, and operating funds). The call in days generated 165 calls and 265 emails to the Mayor’s office.
